Aung San Suu Kyi’s son Kim Aris has renewed calls for the military junta to provide proof that his mother is still alive, following the emergence of recent photographs purporting to show her. Concerns about her health and wellbeing have intensified after more than five years in detention. Human rights groups and international observers continue to demand the junta allow independent verification of her condition.
